ABOUT
Brown’s Manor B&B aka The James Brown House (c. 1900) is one of Prince Edward County’s outstanding heritage designated homes. In addition to the house, the biggest attraction is our location which is just a few hundred meters from Main St. in Picton, the hub of PEC. Guests enjoy being able to walk to dinner, shops, theater, etc...after a long day of touring the County.

As your hosts, our goal is to be service oriented and work to provide guests the same level of standards we would expect for ourselves. We take great care in preserving the history and architectural integrity of the house for the enjoyment of our guests and our community.

FAQ's & POLICIES
Do you allow children?
In order to ensure the comfort of all guests, we are an adult only facility. The circa 1900 house is in mostly original condition therefore it is not child proofed.

What time is check in and check out?
Check is 3 PM and Check out is 11 AM. If you plan on arriving more than a few hours after 3 PM, please send us an email or phone call so that we can make sure we are available to greet you.

Do you allow pets?
We don’t allow pets due to potential allergies with guests, certified service dogs are welcome with advance notice . Feel free to contact us if you need a referral to pet boarding in the area. Please note that we do have a family dog (Labrador Retriever) but he is not permitted in the guest areas.

Do you allow smoking/vaping?
We don’t allow smoking in the house or on the veranda as it is an all wood home.

Do you accept one night reservations?
We have a 2 night minimum policy at our B&B. If you are only visiting the area for one night, we recommend looking at the Prince Edward County’s Chamber of Commerce’s web site for hospitality options that offer one night stays.
What is your cancellation policy?
There is no penalty for cancellation up until 1 week prior to your reservation. Any reservations cancelled within 7 days will pay a one night penalty.
How much deposit do you take for reservations?
Rooms are paid upon check out but we do need a valid credit card number for the reservation.
What’s for breakfast and at what time?
We change the menus every day to try to make everyone happy. We will take into consideration any allergies or dietary restrictions that you might have, just let us know at the time of your reservation. We normally serve breakfast at 9 AM to allow guests to sleep in. Coffee and tea are always available in our dining room.
What’s your favorite local restaurant?
We are spoiled here in the County and we keep a list of our favorites which we update and add comments to regularly and we will gladly send this to guests upon request.
Do you offer housekeeping service?
In order to respect your privacy and keep our prices reasonable, we don’t offer room service or enter rooms without guests requesting it. We are happy to help with anything you need in the rooms such as a change of towels, take out the garbage, refresh toiletries, etc....
